Your ductwork is one of the most important parts of your entire HVAC system. Maybe that’s why the V for ventilation is placed in the middle of the HVAC acronym. Without it, your home wouldn’t have an efficient way to stay heated and cooled when you need it most.
Unlike your furnace and air conditioner, the ventilation system is often handled with an “out of sight, out of mind” philosophy. If you can’t see them, and have no idea if they are working properly, why think about them at all?
Because your ductwork may be creating efficiencies throughout your home, which costs you money in the long run.
Ducts need to be properly sealed so they don’t lose conditioned air. As the air flows through the ducts to every room in your home, if a leak exists along its path, the air will seep out and into other spaces in your home, like the attic or crawlspace.
You’ll notice this in a few different ways.
Have you noticed rising utility costs? It could be a problem with your ventilation system.
Have you noticed certain rooms are colder or warmer than others, and no matter what you do, you just can’t get comfortable? That’s another sign your ventilation system may have been compromised near that particular room.
Has your home been dustier? If the ventilation system is compromised, it can pick up dust from various places along its route, and ultimately deposit it into the room, and onto your furniture.
If you’ve noticed any of these problems, it might be time for an inspection.
We can determine if there are any restrictions in your ductwork preventing air flow throughout your home. We can ensure ducts were properly installed to allow sufficient air flow. We also ensure the correct size ducts were installed to ensure operating efficiency each time your furnace or air conditioner turns on.
If any of these issues are impacting you, you’ll notice it in both your comfort levels and your utility bills.
